Global recognition validates our ambition to build Redtech into Africa’s payment infrastructure company.
We are proud to announce that Redtech has been named in the Payments category of CNBC and Statista’s World’s Top Fintech Companies 2026 ranking, placing us among only 11 African companies recognised in this year’s edition.
Developed by CNBC and Statista, the annual ranking identifies 500 leading fintech companies from a pool of more than 3,500 businesses worldwide. It serves as a data-driven benchmark of companies helping to shape the future of financial services through technology, innovation and scalable digital solutions.
For us, this recognition represents Redtech’s evolution from payment processing into broader financial infrastructure—and validates our ambition to build Redtech into Africa’s payment infrastructure company.
Building the infrastructure behind African commerce
Through our flagship platform, RedPay, we provide payment acceptance, digital banking and merchant infrastructure that enables businesses to collect, pay and manage money more efficiently.
Our solutions include smart POS terminals, e-commerce payment gateway services, virtual accounts, fund transfers, payment cards, VAS Services, and NRS-compliant e-invoicing. Together, these solutions support businesses across hospitality, energy, banking, fintech, retail, utilities and enterprise services.
Our growing scale reflects the reach of this infrastructure. As of July 2026, we have processed approximately ₦45.84 trillion (US$33.21 billion) in cumulative transaction value through the RedPay platform since inception. We have also deployed more than 55,000 RedPay POS terminals, expanding access to reliable payment acceptance for businesses across industries.
Emmanuel Ojo, CEO of Redtech, said:
“Recognition from CNBC and Statista reflects the growing relevance of African fintech companies on the global stage and validates our ambition to build Redtech into Africa’s payment infrastructure company.
“We are building the technology that enables businesses of every size to collect, pay and manage money seamlessly across channels and markets. As African commerce becomes increasingly digitally connected across multiple market borders, businesses need payment infrastructure that is reliable, secure, interoperable and designed for the realities of operating across the continent.
“Our goal is to help power that growth by making payments simpler and more connected for African businesses, while building solutions that reflect global standards.”
Expanding our infrastructure across Africa
Building on our position in Nigeria, we are expanding our capabilities across West Africa.
The UBA RedPay mobile app is now active in Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali and Senegal, establishing our first significant digital banking footprint outside Nigeria. We have also launched virtual account services in Ghana in partnership with UBA, extending our collections capabilities into another West African market.
Over the long term, our ambition is to expand our collections and financial infrastructure capabilities across all 54 African countries. We are building towards a future in which businesses and financial institutions can manage transactions across multiple markets through a single, connected technology platform.
Growing African relevance, recognised globally
Our CNBC and Statista recognition follows our recent inclusion in the Financial Times’ Africa’s Fastest Growing Companies 2026 list, where Redtech was also ranked among Africa’s 15 fastest-growing fintech companies.
Together, these recognitions reinforce the progress we are making and the growing global relevance of African technology companies.
We remain focused on the work ahead: building reliable, secure and scalable payment infrastructure that helps African businesses operate efficiently, serve their customers and grow across markets.
